About Black Harbour
Black Harbour is a blues-rock band from Johannesburg, South Africa, formed in 2017 by singer/guitarist Ross Harding and bassist Kevin Hughes.
The band’s “dark blues” sound is a powerful blues-rock tone with a strong 90’s rock and grunge overtone.
Influenced by blues legends like Robert Johnson and Howlin’ Wolf, as well as blues-rock artists like Led Zeppelin, Gary Clark Jr and Soundgarden. The band has an unapologetically authentic sound that encompasses blues, rock, psychedelic and grunge.
Black Harbour has released two EP’s, as well a “bootleg” EP called Black Harbour (only available on Soundcloud/free streaming). The Blood Moon EP (2019), was the band's first professional release. The follow-up second EP, Cold Winter Blues, was released in 2020 and featured an epic 9-minute blues-rock original. The sound is heavily influenced by Led Zeppelin and experimental blues/rock, with songs from the band’s live performances of 2019 and 2020. The trio has toured locally and internationally, playing at major South African festivals, club circuits and theatres, as well as an acoustic tour in Italy in 2020.
